Around 1pm on Sunday, May 12th both Iselin Districts 11 and 9 Fire Departments were simultaneously dispatched to Warwick St. on the west end of Iselin on multiple reports of a house on fire. Chief C. Wertz of Dist. 11 was the first arriving officer; he quickly confirmed the fire and requested a full first alarm assignment to the scene. This rapidly notified multiple other fire and EMS units from the township to respond and assist. Chief Wertz confirmed that the home owner was removed from the house by a police officer prior to his arrival. Ladder 11 and Engine 3 arrived on scene and immediately stretched an attack line to extinguish the entire first floor of fire as well as search the residence for any occupants. As the block began to fill up with several other units from both Iselin districts and other departments from the township the collaboration of efforts quickly stopped the fire's spread and saved majority of the homeowner's personal property from destruction. The department is happy to report that there were no injuries reported to anyone involved.
